Does your CPS-2 Battery need to be changed?

While your CPS-2 board is not powered up, there is a battery located inside that keeps your board memory 'alive'. Once this battery begins to lose power and drops below certain threshold, it can no longer provide enough power to keep the encoded memory alive. Once this has happened, you board will be completely disabled. This is why the battery is usually just referred to as 'The Suicide Battery'.

So, if your CPS-2 board has never been updated...Now is the time to perform this maintenance step to give your board another good 3 - 5 years of extra life!

If your B board is not functioning properly / will not power on this service will not fix the problem. This service is only to be a 'preventative maintenance' step to ensure your B Board does not fail due to a dead battery.

1 – Pre-pay for the CPS-2 'B' Board Suicide Battery Replacement Service.
* - Example: If you are in need of 3 'B' boards servicing, select a quantity of '3' to be added into the shopping cart.

The service cost shown per CPS-2 B Board, plus return shipping charges per board.
* - The cost/fees to ship your B Board(s) to JammaBoards.com for servicing will as be paid by the customer requiring service.


2 – Carefully package and ship your ‘B’ board(s) to Jammaboards.com at your choice of shipping method. - Using a traceable carrier, or adding tracking service to the shipment is highly recommended!
* - ONLY send the 'B' Board, DO NOT send an 'A' Board in.


3 – Once your boards have be received, you will notify by e-mail. This information will include what board(s) and board serial numbers have received.


4 – Prior to battery install, your board will be tested to ensure proper working order.
* - If any of the boards happen to already have a problem, I will set aside and tag what type of problem is occurring. You will be notified right away of what type of problem has been found. If this happens, the FULL service cost will be refunded back to you. The refund will not include the return shipping charges.


5 – The battery replacement process will begin including; safe disassembly of the B board casing, properly remove the old CPS-2 batter, install the new lithium data battery, re-assemble PCB back into the casing, and perform a final test on the board.


6 – Once all boards have been completed, you will be contacted via e-mail letting you know that all boards are ready for prompt return.Payment must be pre-paid, either by Credit Card, Paypal or Money Order.

*If payment will be sent by Money Order, the money order itself can be shipped in the same carton with the B Board(s).
