A Sega platform that is based on the Saturn home console. Although the cartridges are not directly interchangeable with the Sega Saturn, this motherboard uses the same chipset as the home console. The idea was to make a game platform that allowed for easy (and very "pure") ports for home use. But it did not enjoy the popularity they had hoped.  The motherboard offers a great deal of flexibility. Unfortunately, most games did not take advantage of it. Features include a cabinet-to-cabinet link-up, SCSI ports, digital and analog inputs, serial port, multiple game cartridges, and more.

INSTALLED DUAL BIOS FEATURE:
Many cartridges are locked by region (Japan, Europe, USA, & Taiwan), preventing any use of that cartridge if your ST-V motherboards BIOS is not set for that region. This motherboard features a DUAL BIOS switch, with has the ability to play/test virtually ALL ST-V cartridges. The DUAL Bios feature includes both JAPAN Bios and EUROPE Bios which are selectable by a simple throw of a switch. Basically ALL ST-V cartridges are either useable on a JAPAN Bios setup, or the EUROPE Bios which is why these two regional bios maps have been used. The only game which I know of that is not Dual Bios compatible is Super Major League, which will only function with the USA Bios...ALL other carts work on either the Japan or Europe bios.
